Using Virtual Desktop (VDI) (How To)
You can use the Virtual Desktop (VDI) to connect to CBU’s network. Â

Requirements
You will need to have permission to connect to VDI, please check with the Help Desk.
Connecting to VDI for the First Time
Open a Web Browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge) and navigate to Https://mydesktop.calbaptist.edu
From the VMware Horizon’s page click on the link to Install VMware Horizon client
This will take you to VMware’s download page and click on Go to Downloads for VMware Horizon Client for Windows (Or Mac)
From the download page, click on the Download button
The application will proceed to download to your computer. Once the download is complete click on the Vmware-Horizon-Client install package
a.      It would be downloaded to your default location
          i.     Windows 10 is the Downloads Folder
b.      Chrome or the new Edge web browsers will show the download in the bottom left of the screen and you can click the file from within the browser
6. Once the installer opens, you will need to click on the Agree & Install button
7. The install will occur and usually takes 2-4 minutes
8. Once finished, click on the Finish button and choose to Restart Later
9. A new icon will appear on your desktop for VMware Horizon Client. Double click the icon to launch Horizon
10. Once Horizon is opened, click on New Server and enter the server address of:Â https://mydesktop.calbaptist.edu
11. Click on Connect to start the connection, you will be prompted for your Login Information
a.      Enter your username and CBU password
12. This will log into you into the VDI, now you need to open the VDI by double clicking on the LAB-VDI button
13. The connection will auto log you into a virtual desktop
14. From the Virtual Desktop you can access your mapped drives
